My gran was admitted to Forth Valley Hospital due to a stroke a few days ago. The nurses in A&E were all so good with her, very supportive to our family too.
She was moved to the Acute Assessment Unit 1 in Forth Valley Hospital Larbert. My gran went on to become very unwell and ended up having a significantly big bleed which me and my mum identified and called for help. All staff were so good and communicated very well with us in this situation as it was a traumatic experience for us. Unfortunately my gran is currently end of life so it is just a matter of time now until her passing.
The staff Nurse Regan in particular was amazing. I was so glad my gran had Regan looking after her. I felt so bad as I kept asking her 100 questions as I didn’t understand the doctors and she was so patient with me and was so lovely. She is an excellent nurse, very knowledgeable and I just want to highlight this as she really made us all feel so welcome, kept us in the loop in any changes in my grans care and also when needed assistance was in straight away despite being run off her feet in the ward with other patients.
Before I was leaving to go home, I went to look for her to thank her for all her help but she was busy with another patient so was unable to locate her. Can’t fault this care at all, really appreciate all the support and care provided in the Acute Assessment Unit 1.
