"Some staff attitude issues"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Ear, Nose & Throat (ward 3b)

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was in undergoing a cleft palate repair- as you can imagine it was scary enough - the cleft team looked after us and we’re excellent! However unfortunately some of the ward staff I saw let the ward down, I witnessed and heard them bad mouthing others for the run of days I was in. Some of the staff are excellent and but hearing some of them speak so badly of others was extremely off putting. I couldn’t believe the way they were speaking, not exactly ideal! Hope this could be dealt with and the staff members can improve.

Dear Upsetmummm

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, it is greatly appreciated.

I hope your daughter is well and continuing her recovery at home.

I am delighted to hear that you felt the care provided from the cleft team was excellent. I will ensure this feedback is shared with the team.

I would like to apologise for the aspects of your experience that you have described as this is not the atmosphere we would wish for our patients and their families.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention and I will ensure this is improved upon.

If you would wish to discuss your concerns further, please contact me at emma.mcginlay@nhs.scot

Thank you

Emma
