"Hip replacement"

About: Rutherglen & Cambuslang Locality Support Service / ICST (Community Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy) Rutherglen & Cambuslang

(as a service user),

I was feeling quite discouraged and in pain after hip replacement. I felt I would never walk unaided. I received several visits from Lesley physio. She was lovely warm person with so much knowledge and very encouraging. From the first visit I felt  encouraged and I practised the exercises she gave me and I started to see big changes. By the time the visits ended I was walking unaided. I can’t praise Lesley enough I thought she was a miracle worker.

Dear Uniformwr95,

Thank you very much for your absolutely lovely feedback on our Lesley and her input following your hip replacement surgery. It is wonderful to hear that you felt encouraged following her first visit and that you found her to be warm and knowledgeable. It is so important to feel well looked after and safe during such a stressful time.

Well done for taking Lesley's advice and encouragement on board and putting the work in with your rehabilitation exercises. Your physical and functional improvement are a testament to the work you carried out as well as our Lesley's advice and encouragement.

I hope you can continue the exercises in the longer term and feel stronger every day, I am delighted to pass your feedback to Lesley and also to management. Thanks again for taking the time to tell your story here for us to see.

Best wishes,

Tracey
