"Treehouse Stepping Hill"

About: Treehouse Unit

(as a parent/guardian),

After visiting Treehouse two weeks ago and being met with helpful, friendly staff who explained everything clearly, our experience today has been completely different.

We were transferred from A&E after waiting three hours, arriving around 8 p.m. From there, we were left in the waiting room for another two hours before seeing a doctor. The X-ray was done quickly, which was appreciated, but then we waited yet another hour in the waiting area.

My son was absolutely exhausted — the bright lights and uncomfortable seating made it impossible for him to rest. He was briefly allowed to sit on a bed for about ten minutes while speaking with the doctor, only to be sent back to the waiting room afterward. By that time, we were the only ones left.

It then took another hour to receive his discharge papers, which had to be amended twice because of incorrect information — details the doctor had asked my son but then seemingly ignored. We finally left at midnight with one very tired boy.

We were told we could return within 48 hours if needed, but given how little we felt listened to tonight, I’m not sure what another seven hours in your hospital would achieve.
