"Pre-assessment for hip surgery"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Pre-Operative Assessment clinic

(as the patient),

I was bit nervous going for pre-assessment although delighted that this would hopefully mean my surgery would be soon. I need not have been nervous as the nurse was extremely reassuring and explained everything to me to understand what would happen leading up to my surgery. However I was a bit disappointed to hear it could be as long as 6 months before I was given a date for my surgery. Hopefully that won’t be the case.

Dear Sambadc63

I am pleased to hear that your pre-assessment went well and that the nurse was able to reassure you and explain everything clearly. It’s completely natural to feel nervous before an appointment like this, and I'm glad that the team helped put you at ease.

I understand your disappointment about the potential wait for surgery and we are working to reduce our waiting times.

Best wishes

Nicole
