"Groups are very helpful"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

I recently took a course learning about helping yourself with breathing problems through the NHS and how to cope with it. It was a course over several weeks twice a week. It included light exercises and learning about various breathing conditions and how to use medication effectively and at the right times, inhalers for example. Also how the body works with breathing. I learned so much about things i didn't know about or understand. I did enjoy the class and felt it built my confidence up as it went on. I sometimes have social anxiety and it has a real effect on me. This group helped a lot. It was good to be amongst people going through similar struggles. I felt the nurses were very knowledgeable and explained things very well, they were also good at answering your concerns and worries. I even got help with other things going on health wise. I think these groups are very helpful.

Dear Just Breathe

Thank you for taking time to feedback your experience of pulmonary rehabilitation. I am so pleased to hear that you found the classes beneficial and a positive learning experience.

The girls work very hard to ensure the programme is both interesting and informative. They will be very grateful for your kind comments.

Kind Regards
