I've given blood many times at the ARI donation centre, I've never had a bad experience but I feel it is important to feedback on those who helped me yesterday.
When I arrived ten minutes early, I was hoping I'd be seen early but instead found a full waiting room. Richard at the front desk was very apologetic about the wait, but kept myself and another lady entertained with his chat and upbeat nature.
I had Grant for my health check, he was very in depth and answered all my questions. He said he had only been part of the team since May but I wouldn't have known if he hadn't said! It took a long time to get blood from my finger and Grant was lovely about having to squeeze my finger numerous times to get the blood moving.
Lastly, I met Gill who looked after me while donating. She was so nice and chatty and again, was fairly new but knew so much and had an answer for all my questions!
I'd love for my feedback to be passed on as I felt all three did a fantastic job despite how busy it was. I think the ability to put someone at ease when giving blood is so important. Also, I'd like to point out that all three of them said 'Thank you for your donation' which I thought was a really kind thing to say.
"Great experience donating blood"
