"Daughter's Assessment"

About: Children and Young People Services / Autism Services

(as a parent/guardian),

Today my daughter had an assessment appointment. We arrived at The Oaks and it was lovely to see all the Autism team staffs photos on the wall, it was nice to put a face to the staff I have had conversations with on the phone over the past 19 months. My daughter really enjoyed looking at these and asking her granny what all the staff was called. We were then greated by Brendan, he was lovely and welcoming and he interacted with my daughter well, he then showed us to the room we were to be assessed in. He explained the process of the assessment and he had a nice way when talking to us. He then left to observe and once he came back in to the room to continue the rest of the assessment he was very friendly and funny. My daughter was quite insistent on getting to look around other rooms and Brendan was very accommodating of this even though I'm sure it isn't something that usually happens at assessments. Overall we had a lovely experience and I am very grateful for the time taken to complete the assessment. Thank you once again Autism team for all the hard work.

Thank you 'EMO1' for your feedback. I am delighted that you and your daughter enjoyed looking at the photographs of all the staff on the wall as you enter the building - we have worked hard to create this feature wall and want children and young people and their families to be able to put a face to a name.

I will be sure to tell Brendan and the team about your positive feedback. I am happy you and your daughter got to see other rooms in the building, this is often very helpful especially if children/young people have to come back to the building for other appointments.

I want to thank you again for your encouraging feedback and wish you and your daughter well now that your assessment is completed.
