"I found the level of care to be exemplary"

About: Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 1 (Emergency Medical)

(as the patient),

I was recently admitted to AU1 with severe dehydration due to a gastric infection.

This was diagnosed the following day as salmonella.

Once in the system I found the level of care to be exemplary.

All the staff were very helpful, attentive and cheerful.

Their upbeat, positive attitude made the experience so much easier to deal with.

As someone who has many friends in the healthcare profession, I’m fully aware of the constraints and difficulties many face, but I can confidently say none of that was visible or impacted their level of professionalism and dedication.

Put simply; people like them means people like me go on living.

I am grateful to every one of them, and proud of NHS Scotland and Fife in particular in this case.
