"Very reassuring and comforting"

About: Mental Health / Primary Care Mental Health

(as a service user),

Had seven weeks of this course.  I was offered the course alongside medication when I was diagnosed. I was glad to be able to have some time on medication first as the Sparks course was at times thought-provoking and hard work, and having a few months of medication helped me do the course in a good frame of mind.

Doing the course and spending time with other people with it was often very reassuring and comforting, even though it was also quite hard going at times. I found I spent a bit of time after each session thinking about it and I found doing the written exercises helpful for that.
