In early December 2023 I had vision disturbances while I was reading on my desktop computer. My son-in-law is a doctor and I quickly phoned him on this and he advised me to see my GP as soon as possible as it may be a sign of a Stroke coming. I saw my usual Surgery Doctor, Dr Bandaranayaka, at the earliest opportunity and she phoned and also wrote to the local hospital North Middlesex explaining the urgency of carrying out investigations including MRI Head for TIA, Neck scan, etc.
After 7 months of investigations the hospital found I have a heart failure with EF level low and the hospital prescribed me the necessary medications. From early October 2024 I had my private heart failure consultant Dr Lyon who had to stop a few North Middlesex Hospital medications as these were causing me severe side effects. My Ejection Fraction at the time of heart failure diagnosis was low but my recent Echocardiogram from Royal Brompton Hospital showed that my EF has improved to close to normal.
I am extremely grateful to my usual GP Dr Bandaranayaka for helping me to perform all my heart failure investigation for 7 months and even now I find her a very dedicated, knowledgeable & experienced doctor as whenever she prescribes me a medicine for any of my health issues I get better on her first prescription. I wish I could find an on demand casual private doctor as good as her.
Lastly Highland Practice is a very disciplined and well organised surgery under the leadership of the Dr Harris.
"A very dedicated, knowledgeable and experienced doctor"
