Coming home from work I felt a numbing feeling and my face going cold and dropping. Straight away I drove to the hospital feeling symptoms of a stroke. Arriving at A&E I explained the situation and someone from the stroke team was down in less than 2 minutes. Within 20 minutes I was having a CT scan. Within 3 hours I was in a ward receiving care and treatment for a stroke.
It was the weekend so I was told to stay in till I received for a MRI scan on Monday. Over the weekend every staff member, and I mean every staff member, was fantastic, looked after every need I had from start to finish. The love and care everyone receives in ward 6 is at the highest care you could probably give anyone. I could praise ward 6 staff members for ever, they are fantastic.
My story on Monday was my MRI scan came back, I was stroke free but treated for TIA. I got home that day but many will be in for weeks or months going forward in their lives. But I do know they are in the best of hands for their recovery.
Again from my heart, from my family, you are the best at why you do thanks you 🙏💝🙏
"Every staff member was fantastic"
