"Lack of Communication"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Respiratory Medicine (Ward 12)

(as the patient),

I was not informed that my appointment was running over 30 minutes late, although the reception staff must, or should, have been aware of this. 

Had I been informed I could have gone to the cafe (about 3 minutes walk), and either returned at an agreed time or I could have been phoned or texted to tell me to return.  Instead I had to sit and wait with no indication of how long the delay might be.  It appeared that the reception staff did not have a list of patients and appointment details.

I would like to stress that I fully understand appointments can be delayed, but what upset me was not being told of this.
