"Waiting in discomfort"

About: Maternity Care Services / Pregnancy Support Centre

(as a service user),

The wait times are simply too long - I had a miscarriage earlier this year in June and I’m having another one now. Both times I’ve had to wait in the waiting room well over 40minutes to be seen. I understand that it’s busy but stop asking women who are emotionally drained from miscarrying and uncertainty in early pregnancy to wait in discomfort, having been asked to come with a full bladder, for a specific time. It’s outrageous.

Dear controllerdz68,

Thank you for your feedback on Care Opinion.

We apologise for the difficult experience you have had on both occasions within the Pregnancy Support Centre, with long waiting times whilst experiencing a pregnancy loss. Delays and long waiting times is not part of the service or care we wish to provide. These concerns have been escalated but we would be happy to discuss in further detail if you wished.

Please contact the Patient Experience Team by email on LOTH.Feedback@nhs.scot or by telephone 0131 536 3370 (Mon-Fri, 9am to 2pm) and make reference to this story. They will be able to provide us with more details if you do wish to discuss this with us.

Once again I apologise for the delays you experienced,

Kind regards,

Lucy
