"We feel that Edenderry Day Centre is a very good place"

About: Edenderry Dementia Day Centre

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

The staff are well mannered, friendly and helpful. They are well used to dealing with people who have various forms of Dementia. Attending the Day Care Centre Monday and Wednesday, and having a care worker come in for half a day on a Tuesday and Thursday gives structure to our family members week. She reacts very well to that.

She will make sure to get dressed at exactly the right time each Monday and Wednesday to leave for the day centre. The brief house visits by care workers each other morning is a good way of monitoring her condition. She seems to fit in well with the routine in the Day Care Centre and to react well to the staff there.

It might be helpful if staff members were to give us advise on routine things which we might get her to do at home. All in all it is a very good place for her and other people with dementia to attend regularly.

Regards

Good morning,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind feedback on behalf of your relative. We are delighted to hear that she enjoys her time with us and that the structure of her week is working well for her and your family. Our team takes great pride in providing a welcoming, supportive, and engaging environment for everyone who attends the centre.

We also truly appreciate your helpful suggestion about offering more advice on routine activities at home. That’s a wonderful idea, and we will certainly look into ways we can provide additional guidance to families and carers to support consistency between home and the centre.

Thank you again for your thoughtful comments and for your trust in our service. It’s a pleasure to be part of your family member’s care.

Kind Regards

Joy Walker
