"My mum's treatment"

About: New Cross Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

Very disgusted with the level of care. Came in with heart issues. Chest pains. Leaking heart valve. Made to wait 7 hours before we left as mum could not wait any longer. Told patients are seen in order of arrival in emergency department, not in order of issue. She is in so much pain, but has decided to take double her medication to get the heart symptoms under control, she is on strong heart medication and beta blockers, but as she is not seen within the reasonable time, they gave us 4-5 hours, she has no choice but to put her life at risk as sitting in a plastic chair all right is making everything worse. But they don't seem to care. In my view, they are just forcing us to go through the pain so they justify making NHS  private. Disgusting.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post comments regarding your mom's recent patient experience.

I am sorry for any distress this matter has caused. To enable us to look further into your concerns, I would be grateful if you could contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01902 695362 or rwh-tr.PALS@nhs.net who can assist further.

Kindest regards

Alison Dowling
