I attended Banbridge Polyclinic for my 31 week appointment.
At the time I was swollen and not feeling 100%. When my blood pressure was taken it was made very clear that it was high but new readings were taken throughout the appointment and the lowest one was then recorded. My bump was also measured during this appointment. Overall the appointment had taken around one hour. This time was mostly spent navigating encompass as it was relatively new at this stage. 3 weeks later my baby was delivered via emergency c section as I had been diagnosed elsewhere with preeclampsia. I think if more focus had been given to the patient than the new computer system this condition could have been picked up on as my blood pressure was raised, growth had slowed, and swelling.
I instead had a difficult birth and my baby was unwell when born. I feel things could have been different if a little more attention was given.
"Not enough focus on the patient"
