Basically for years I suffered with issues then last year my GP referred me to an oncologist so around Feb I had my biopsy to which I received my results I was given the results and plan for treatment I came so close to refusing the treatment it was so unreal not really the treatment it was meeting people plus I had to have my wife with me. Thankfully the radiotherapy department at Altnagelvin hospital took care of everything including travel but the care and consideration they showed was beyond expectations lovely people. The only thing I would have changed is at the start they offered me help mentally sadly now I regret

My name is Paula Powell, I am the Treatment Lead Radiographer in the Radiotherapy department here at NWCC.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and heartfelt comments. It is always beneficial for us to hear about people's experiences when they come through our service, and to hear that you felt cared for and looked after is the best compliment we could receive.

I am sorry that you feel regret at not taking up the offer of support for your mental health. If this is still an issue please feel free to get in touch with us here in Radiotherapy as we would be happy to make appropriate referrals and give you more information about what support is available. Our number will be on the leaflets you were given on your last day or just phone through switchboard and ask for myself or the Radiotherapy department.

Thank you again for taking the time to give this feedback, I hope it will help to put others at ease when they are anxious about coming to Radiotherapy.
