"Cooking at home challenge"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Dietetics

(as a parent/guardian),

After meeting Marie and asking for some advice regarding childs weight gain.

She offered for us to take part in the cooking at home challenge.

It was great that Marie dropped ingredients weekly for my son to do the challenge.

Due to his allergy to milk most weeks the ingredients were not suitable for him to use, e.g. cheese and yoghurts, milk and butter.

These foods were not wasted as other people in household could eat them.

Overall Aaron enjoyed taking part and is keen to help more in kitchen and has a better knowledge of healthier snack options

Thank you for the opportunity.

Hi februaryfk89,

Thank you very much for telling us your story. I'm glad that you enjoyed the cooking at home challenge and that Aaron is keen to do more in the kitchen.

I'm sorry to hear that the weekly recipes weren't suitable for Aaron. If you would like to do the challenge again, we can make sure that we give you milk free recipes and ingredients.

Another chance to get cooking and a chance for Aaron to taste it too!

Please email our manager, aaron.fraser@nhs.scot

and he will be in touch to arrange another cooking at home challenge.
