"Copper coil removal"

About: Belfast Health & Social Care Trust / The Rose Clinic

(as the patient),

I recently visited this clinic to have my copper coil removed. I had this coil inserted during my C-section about two years ago and decided to have it removed for personal reasons.

At a review last year, I was told that the strings were no longer visible and were wrapped around my cervix. This made me very anxious and put me off getting it removed for quite some time.

When I finally attended the clinic on Thursday, the staff made me feel at ease right away. I was extremely nervous, but within a few short minutes, the Dr. managed to retrieve the strings and remove the IUD.

I immediately felt relieved. Although there was a brief moment of nipping pain, it passed quickly, and I only experienced light cramping afterwards. All my nerves were completely put to rest.

I highly recommend this clinic — for anyone who’s in a similar situation with “lost” IUD strings, it’s not as bad as it sounds. The procedure is much easier than I imagined, and the staff were incredibly kind and reassuring throughout.
