Had to go to Minor Injuries at Royal Infirmary Edinburgh due to an ankle injury sustained during sports. Initially went to minor injuries but unfortunately didn’t get seen due to MIU closing for the night, but the remaining patients were asked if they wanted to make an appointment for the next day, or go to A&E without losing our place in the queue. The CSW in MIU (Davy?) took us round and kept spirits as high as possible.
Once I had been called the process was very efficient. Tom the A&E doctor saw me within minutes of going into the department, he took me along for X-ray himself due to porters being busy. Though the X-Rays were uncomfortable, Ralph the radiographer reassured me and got the scans taken promptly before taking me back to my bay. After the results were seen by Tom, I was given a moon boot and some pain relief to help with my recovery from suspected ligament damage.
Although it felt like a very long night, the care received was excellent and everyone I encountered put me at ease.
"The care received was excellent"
