"Polyp removal surgery gave me my life back"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Day Surgery Unit

(as the patient),

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the incredible team at the Day Surgery Unit for the outstanding care and treatment I received at the end of September during my polyp removal procedure. Dr. Pearson and Dr. Chamberlain did an absolutely amazing job: their skill and expertise are truly commendable. I recovered within just a few days and didn’t require any pain management after the day of surgery. Their precision and care made all the difference, and I am so thankful for their exceptional surgical work!

I would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to the anaesthetist team (Oliver and his colleagues) for being so caring, patient, and professional. They took the time to reassure me and put me at ease, especially as I mentioned my fear of needles. Their calm and compassionate approach made what could have been a stressful experience feel completely manageable.

A very special thank-you goes to Dr. Dunlop for suggesting this treatment - something I hadn’t even heard of or considered before! Thanks to her insight and expertise, I was able to have the procedure that has truly transformed my quality of life. Just a week after surgery, my period returned, and for the first time in my life, I experienced minimal pain and a highly manageable flow (I used to flood every month!). I was able to go about my days without disruption. This is genuinely the first time I’ve felt the joy of being a woman without being overwhelmed by monthly pain. I never realised that polyps could have been the culprit, and I’m so grateful to the entire team for enabling me to live my life more freely and comfortably as a woman!

Thank you all for your care, skill, and compassion. You’ve made a life-changing difference!
