"Thank you all for your care and support"

About: Paediatrics / Oak Ward

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was recently admitted with Quinsy, it was his first hospital stay. The care he received on Oak ward was outstanding. The nurses were very kind and caring, nothing was too much trouble. They made sure that we were put at ease and kept well informed. The HCAs were amazing and worked extremely hard. One HCA stood out in particular for us, she was called Jodie. I was worried about my son and missing my little girl at home and she took the time to chat to me, which was a much needed distraction. She chatted and joked with my son, easing his nerves around having his cannula removed. She is a credit to the trust.

Thank you all for your care and support

Dear

Thank you so much for sharing your experience via care opinion.

We are so pleased to hear that your son received outstanding care during his stay on Oak Ward. Hospital admissions—especially the first—can be daunting, and it’s lovely to know our team helped make the experience as reassuring and comfortable as possible for both of you.

We are incredibly lucky to have an amazing team, your kind words about our nurses and HCAs mean a great deal, and we are especially pleased to hear how Jodie made a positive impact. Her compassion and attentiveness truly reflect the values we strive for, and we’ll make sure your lovely feedback is shared with her and the wider team here on Paediatrics.

Wishing your son a smooth and full recovery, and thank you again for taking the time to write to us.

Kind regards,

Angela Giles
Paediatric Nursing Rota Lead
