I am an elderly patient with multiple serious health conditions, and I have been registered with Mansfield Medical Centre for many years. My experience over the past year has been very concerning.
Since last year and for most of this year, I have almost always been directed to see only a Nurse Practitioner, without the opportunity to see my registered GP. This has left me feeling that my care is restricted and that I have limited access to the doctors at the practice.
Recently my carer submitted a PATCHS request on my behalf because of a new symptom. In light of all my health issues and my age, the practice should have treated this with urgency. Instead, my son and daughter have called the surgery four times. First they were told there was a triage delay, then a receptionist said he would speak to the GP directly, Followed by phone calls not one answered. Yet eight hours later there has still been no response, no phone call, and no text message.
For an elderly patient with multiple serious illnesses, such delays are unsafe and unacceptable. Patients in my situation deserve timely and proper medical care. Sadly, my experience at this practice shows that this standard is not being met.
