"Lymphoma cancer journey"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Acute Receiving Unit (Units 1-5) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Clinical Haematology (Ward 4c) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Medical High Dependency Unit (MHDU)

(as the patient),

I had a rupture in my duodenum caused by the lymphoma. It caused me to lose 8 pints of blood, my veins to collapse and get rushed to emergency surgery.

The care I  received  from the ACU 5 Ward, The High Dependency Ward and the amazing Team in Ward 4C, has been beyond anything I could have expected.  They have looked after me with the utmost care and compassion and I felt really safe in their care.

Dear Jesster

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story following what must have been an incredibly frightening and difficult experience.

We’re so pleased to hear that you received such outstanding care during your emergency surgery and recovery, and that the teams in the ACU 5 Ward, the High Dependency Unit, and Ward 4C were able to provide not only expert clinical treatment but also the compassion and reassurance that helped you feel truly safe in their care.

Your kind words will mean a great deal to all the staff involved in your treatment. They work incredibly hard under often challenging circumstances, and knowing their care made such a difference will be both uplifting and appreciated.

We wish you continued strength and good health in your recovery, and thank you again for your message — it’s feedback like yours that reminds us all of the vital importance of kindness, teamwork, and patient-centred care.

Kind regards

Kevin
