My dad was admitted to Causeway ICU with a bleed on the brain. We were told the outcome was not looking good for my dad. Thanks however to the care my dad received from the staff on the ICU ward he was discharged from hospital about 3 weeks after.
I have no doubt that my dad is with us today due to the expertise of Dr Davy and all the amazing nurses who looked after my dad and gave him a fighting chance.
The ICU of Causeway hospital is such a vital ward to have, and it is so important to have it. Time was such a crucial factor in my dad's treatment and I am glad that we had the ICU in Causeway. If my dad had to travel further to get to an ICU unit, I'm not sure we would have had the same outcome.
As a family, we are so grateful to the ICU nurses who cared for my Dad. Their kindness, compassion and professionalism helped us through a very difficult time. They are truly worth their weight in gold and we will be eternally thankful to them all.
"Kindness, compassion and professionalism"
