"The care I was shown was wonderful"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Ophthalmology North Devon District Hospital / Theatres

(as the patient),

I have been seen in the eye clinic over the last couple of years with regard to double  vision in my left eye. After investigation, it was discovered that my longest nerve had been damaged. Many appointments later I was fitted with a prism in my glasses so I could see properly and most importantly drive.

It was suggested I have an operation to correct the eyes position which I jumped at.

I had my op with the team at Vanguard Theatre led by Mr Gibbon. The care I was shown was wonderful from start to finish and I can't thank you all enough, and I do believe my eye has been corrected. I look forward to attending the follow up appointments to confirm.

Dear pyxisey47,

Thank you for your post about the care you have received for your double vision.

We are really glad that we have been able to help you by fitting a prism to join your double vision and enable you to return to driving. We are also very pleased to hear that the care you received in Vanguard Theatre was wonderful from start to finish and has corrected your eye position.

We look forward to seeing you and the improvement in your eyes at your follow up appointment.

Kind regards,
