"Minor surgery, day case"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I recently attended Surgery Ward 2 in Grantham for minor surgery. I’m not qualified to talk about the clinical quality of my treatment but the staff were all lovely, and as rushed off their feet as I’m sure they were, I never felt that way. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was treated with empathy and care.

No waiting for hours for a drink or some food, discharge paperwork done within an hour and a follow up telephone call.

We’re all aware off the stresses on the NHS and the devastating effects it can have when they’re overwhelmed, but it seems like this ward on this occasion was full enough of hard working, caring professionals to make things run like a well oiled machine, despite the resource stresses.

My heartfelt thanks and more power to you.

Dear Wilbo456

Thank you so much for the amazing comments you have sent into Care Opinion. As matron it is such a morale boost to read patients comments and for the staff it is all shared and they are thrilled to have it published in Care Opinion.

We work so hard in the NHS and it’s a tough time at the minute, but we do our very best to deliver the highest quality care we can and it’s a real boost to read that we are getting it right and your comments certainly support that

Thank you again

Please take care

KR

Julie
