"Winter vaccines booking system"

(as the patient),

I received my appointment for both flu and covid vaccines for Fernhill Community Centre. I am in 18-74 group and immunosuppressed.

My husband (75+) also received an appointment at Fernhill Community Centre but on a different day. I logged in to the online booking portal to change my appointment to approximately the same time as his (as that suits my immunotherapy medication better).  It seemed to suggest that I cancel my original appointment prior to rescheduling.

When I tried to reschedule Fernhill was not mentioned in drop down list. I phoned the 0800 number and although call handler was friendly they couldn't add me as they didn't have Fernhill in their menu either. Strangely, although I had cancelled my original appointment only 20 minutes before they couldn't reinstate it so now I am appointment less.

No wonder the vaccination system is failing

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and I’m very sorry for the inconvenience you’ve experienced.

The online booking system and the national booking centre will be able to see appointments if they are available. It’s possible that there were no further appointments at Fernhill Community Centre when you tried to reschedule, which is why it no longer appeared in the drop-down list.

To help resolve this, please contact our Patient Affairs team on patientaffairs@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk with your name and contact details. They will pass your details on to the Vaccination team who will contact you to arrange a suitable alternative.
