"Cardiac Arrest"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I was playing golf on the 18th fairway, 100 yards from the Club House, when I took a Cardiac Arrest and dropped.

With great fortune, there was a Doctor playing close by, an ambulance driving past the golf course returning back to the hospital ending its shift, and a defibrillator at the club house. Now that’s having all your stars lined up.

CPR was performed for 15 mins then the defibrillator started my heart and the ambulance crew carried out more checks etc before driving me half a mile to FVRH. I was so lucky.

I am very very grateful for the care and attention I received from the ambulance crew. I believe one of the paramedics was called Cleo.

Dear Lucky Golfer,

Thanks for sharing your story and I'm so glad to hear that you received such great care and attention from the crew and particularly Cleo. This is such a lovely story to receive.

The team will really appreciate you sending these kind comments in. If you’d like us to get this message to them directly, we’d need a few more details such as the name, date, time and address of the call out sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot so we can match it with the information in our system. Please also include your Care Opinion username so we can share your story with the crew.

Thanks again so much and best of luck with your recovery. Hope you get back out to playing golf soon!

Best wishes,

Marie
