Following a really tough time at work and what culminated in a disciplinary investigation against myself (which I believe was unfounded), I had a severe crisis. I have been previously diagnosed with Clinical depression and anxiety and thought to be borderline bi-polar. My Organisation took no note of my Mental Health issues and this led to the severe breakdown and my suicidal thoughts
I wasn’t thinking straight but somehow managed to have the where withal to call 111. After talking me down they put me in touch with a few contacts. One of which was inclusion Thurrock. I have to say the person I spoke to (Nicole) was so understanding and I felt really listened without judging and took the time to understand me. Other contacts at other organisations didn’t really get through my usual male bravado and act. I am sure it is difficult as I don’t like talking about these things and what I say isn’t always what runs through my head in the bad moments. Nicole took the time to understand me, not my words but my thoughts. She chose a couple of things she thought would really help me and we concentrated on just those. I will never stop using them and they will be my crutches for the future. I am now signed off. I know I am not perfect and still off work. I wish I had more sessions but know I have the tools to keep me at a manageable level.
