About: NHS Lanarkshire / Covid 19 Vaccination Programme

(as a carer),

Booked my vaccinations through your website. Asked for both vaccinations, got there only to be told that I am only eligible for the flu vaccine. Even though you ask me ( being a front line worker ) to tick which ever jag I want, I ticked for both, I get there and find out only 1 available. 

I find the webpage very misleading, make it clear that if I don't have any underlying health conditions and I am not over 75 then all I get is the flu jag nothing else. I feel it needs to be made clearer in your booking system when we go to book please.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, I’m really sorry for the confusion and inconvenience you experienced.

I completely understand how frustrating it must have been to arrive expecting both vaccinations, especially after selecting them during the booking process, only to be told that you were only eligible for the flu vaccine.

The online booking system you used is part of the national booking system, which is managed by a national team. I’ll make sure your feedback is passed on to the national team so they can look into how the eligibility information is presented and consider making it clearer for users.

Locally, the vaccination nurses have a responsibility to assess eligibility based on the national inclusion and exclusion criteria, which are set out to ensure vaccines are offered to those who meet specific health and age requirements. While the system may allow you to select both vaccines, final eligibility is confirmed during your appointment based on these criteria.
