"Nurse looked after me so well."

I was triaged by the nurse and then had to wait to be called in. The process was very quick and I did not wait long at all. I told them about the anxiety I was experiencing after not being dealt with in the most compassionate way by the staff in my GP practice with regards to symptoms I had been experiencing down below, and how they had thrown a lot of very serious diagnosis and STDs my way without real proof, adequate examinations or investigations, and had decided to come here today to get checked and for my peace of mind. I was initially reluctant to come here but after seeing how professional and caring the staff were, I realised I had been worrying for absolutely no reason and my only regret was not coming in sooner.

Nurse Tamika immediately put me at ease. she explained the process and what it involved & what we would be testing for. She was very thorough and attentive, and I felt very comfortable disclosing even the awkward details to her. There was no judgement at all & I did not feel rushed. She explained my results to me and reassured me and put my mind at ease.

It was also incredibly reassuring to be taken care of by someone who had an understanding of different presentations on different skin colours and who could confidently answer my questions with regards to my skin colour / any potential abnormal discolouration down below, as I am an ethnic woman myself and I believe representation in the healthcare system matters for many reasons including being able to tell what is normal for different ethnic groups / skin colours and tones.

Overall, I wish I had just come straight here sooner instead of even attending my GP because the process was so thorough and informative. I would definitely return here again if I had any issues concerning my sexual health.
