"Been diagnosed with bladder cancer"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / Oncology

(as a relative),

In 4 weeks our mum went from mucking her horses out and driving and food shopping to bed bound in hospital. Having to have help with personal care and unable to move from pain. We were told it's very aggressive and nothing could be done only manage the pain.

After Jenny visited us we had everything explained in depth to us and we were also given hope of treatment and hope. It also gave my mum a lot of support, as Jenny sat and talk through our mums worries .

Good morning,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback about the support your Mum and you as a family received from Jenny from the Acute Oncology team. I am sorry to hear about your Mum’s recent diagnosis and send you all good wishes. These times can be challenging and lifechanging, so it was lovely to see that the intervention from Jenny was supportive and able to ease some of your concerns.

Your feedback has been shared with the team and our Lead Nurse for Cancer Care as they will all appreciate hearing about the support received form the team.

I wish your Mum well with her ongoing care.

Kind regards,

Aoife Isherwood
