"Physio & OT service"

About: Intermediate and Transitional Care / Community Rehabilitation Team

(as the patient),

Had an amputation in June, soon after physio started. Pascal was 1st to visit and he explained everything precisely and helped me carry out the exercises with a professional manner. He helped me to complete all that was needed and in a very casual way putting me at ease.

After several other physios called, each carried out their duties excellently and their visits were eventually backed up with OT personnel who put me through a series of tasks allowing me to walk with the aid of a temporary leg. Excellent application to the tasks and so efficient.

With all the efforts from both teams I am now due to be accepted into hospital for intensive work to hopefully be fitted with a prosthetic leg.

I must say when they told me my visits were over it was kinda emotional as I had come to know them so well and they also connected with my dog lol.

To Pascal, Gerard, Patricia, Charlene, Sharon from physio and Claire, Joanne and Danny from OT, I can only offer my thanks for all their work and inputs. Deepest thanks

Dear Izarcy95

Thank you for this lovely feedback. I'm glad you (and your dog) had such a positive experience with the service following your amputation. It's wonderful to hear you felt the service was well explained and staff treatments were completed in a professional manner.

Keep going with the exercises and I wish you all the best with your continued assessment with limb fitting.

I will share this with all the named staff and the wider team and they will be delighted.

Thanks

Craig Ballentine-Kearns

Dear izarcy95,

Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. It’s lovely to hear that you had a positive experience with both the physiotherapy and occupational therapy teams — and that your dog was part of the journey too!

I’m so pleased to hear that the support you received helped you progress towards walking with a temporary leg and now preparing for prosthetic fitting. That’s a fantastic achievement, and a real testament to your hard work and determination.

I’ll make sure your kind words are shared with the team — they’ll be absolutely delighted to know they made a difference.

Wishing you all the very best as you continue your rehabilitation.

Warm regards,
Julie Bray
