"A friendly person in such an uncertain time for us"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Play Service

(as a parent/guardian),

Back in March my 1 and a half year old sustained a burn on the back of her leg. After taking her into A&E we were advised that she would need surgery in 2 days time.

Me and my partner turned up to the hospital and met one of the play workers Nadine who was amazing and welcoming with my child. Showing her all the toys and keeping her amused drawing. She was such a friendly person in such an uncertain time for us. We had to wait for a good portion of the day before our daughter was taken down to surgery and Nadine pulled out all the stops to make sure our daughter was kept busy which gave me 5 minutes to have a breather.
We had to return once a week for another 2 weeks and every time Nadine was there remembering us and our daughter

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback of the experience you and your family had in the hospital.

I hope your daughter is recovering well. I am so happy that Nadine was able to help you and your family as I am sure it must have been a stressful time for you all. Nadine is a fantastic asset to the hospital and she will be delighted to receive your kind words. The Play staff throughout the hospital work extremely hard to ensure that families have a positive experience during their time with us. Play is extremely important for all patients and I am so glad that Play and Nadine were able to help your daughter.
