"I was not made to feel welcome"

About: Community Mental Health / Restormel ICMHT

(as the patient),

I was referred to adults mental health after I turned 18 and was transferred over from CAMHS.

The staff member I was transferred to had already met me in meetings at CAMHS, so knew my needs, struggles, difficulties and barriers and seemed to be understanding however, on my first appointment with adults this completely changed.

I was not made to feel welcome and I refused to get out the car so they came to the car. We later had an email from the mental health team basically saying that if I didn't engage (meaning verbally) and if I didn't go into the appointments on my own, I would be discharged from the service.

They also called my mum to discuss moving forwards and was very patronising, and this made me even more reluctant to going back to the service.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback for one of our services, especially when you must be feeling a little let down. I apologise that you weren't made to feel welcome. I have passed your comments on to the Team Lead and will ask for them to send me a response.
