"The kindness and care shown to my mum"

About: London Ambulance Service NHS Trust Queen's Hospital / Accident & emergency Queen's Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

1. Paramedics - Home:

Team leads: Vicky and Rob.

They were excellent - both incredibly kind, professional, and rapid with diagnosing Mum with a stroke, and getting her safely to Queens.

2. Major Incidents Ward P1 ward - Queens:

Team lead: Dr Rodrigues.

Was excellent in how he coordinated the professional care.

He also communicated very clearly, efficiently and regularly with my Mum and family, which was just invaluable at a very stressful time. We can’t thank him and his team enough for their fast care.

3. ‘Harvest A’ Ward - stroke recovery unit, Queens.

Team lead: Lucy, the nurse on duty, was very considerate and reassuring in how she admitted and settled Mum into the ward, at a really late and tiring hour. She went above and beyond to make Mum comfortable and feel safe.

Her total professionalism and very effective help of patients is a credit to the hospital.

Main Request

We are particularly grateful for the kindness and care shown, which meant Mum was saved from the worst of the stroke impacts and safely returned home.

The family would appreciate it if our message can be sent of the colleagues above, and passed onto ward managers and senior staff, with our deep appreciation.
