"Supportive and attentive staff"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Acute assessment unit Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

I just want to pass on a wholehearted thankyou to all staff who have attended to my mother-in-law during the numerous admissions into FVRH.

She has been in & out of hospital over the years: often in ED / AAU / CAU / B31 and also in ICU during one admission.

Sadly, her most recent admission was prioritising comfort care due to her advanced frailty. The staff throughout this time have been very supportive and attentive to my mother-in-law, myself and family.

I most certainly can’t remember all names in ED but thank you to Kayley & Annabel who had moved my in-law into a side room one morning as this allowed my family to spend time with her in a more comfortable setting.

A huge thankyou to all the paramedics, medics and nursing staff during her time in ED.  I truly appreciate you all taking the time to ensure comfort as well as providing the most appropriate care.

And lastly, such great thanks to the staff in AAU - not just for this admission, but for the previous admission too.

I never got to see / speak to the night shift team hence apologies for not being able to add in your names in this post. But thank you for keeping my mother-in-law comfortable and safe.

Ailsa, Lyn, Claire, Carly, Ede, Claudell, Jennifer, ANP Joanna and all medical teams involved - thankyou x

And lastly, to the students; keep on doing what you’re doing :).

Thankyou to paramedic student Euan also. Thank you in your care and approach to my mother-in-law.

Dear Sarah 2023

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful message that you have taken the time to share. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Providing compassionate, person centred care is at the heart of what we do, and its reassuring to know that our staff were able to provide this to your mother in law and your family.

I will share your message with all of the teams involved, including those named. It will mean a great deal to them and the rest of the teams.

Kind Regards

Pam

Dear Sarah2023,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your heartfelt message about your mother-in-law’s care. I see that your feedback relates to a number of services. I'm responding on behalf of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

It’s lovely to hear that your mother-in-law received compassionate and attentive care throughout her many admissions and I’m glad to hear that staff across the NHS supported both her and your family during such a difficult time.

If you’re happy to do so, please consider sending the name, date, time and address of the call out to sas.feedback@nhs.scot so we can match your message with the crew involved. It would also be helpful if you could include your Care Opinion username so we can share your story with them directly.

Thank you again for your kind words and for recognising the efforts of so many staff members. Your feedback will mean a great deal to those involved.

Warm regards,

Marie
