"They made me feel completely at ease"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the wonderful care I received recently.

About six weeks ago, I had a scare when I suddenly could not move my legs, and an ambulance was called. The crew who attended to me—a gentleman from Crossmaglen and a lady who was the driver—were absolutely fantastic. They made me feel completely at ease, took the time to listen to me, and even used humour to calm my nerves. Their kindness and good nature made what could have been a frightening time feel so much lighter.

When I arrived at the Emergency Department, I was met by a nurse from Dublin who was equally lovely. She spent time talking to me and getting to know personal details about me, which meant a great deal and helped me feel seen and cared for.

At my age, these small acts of kindness and patience mean more than words can express. I want to thank each of them sincerely for the compassion, patience, and humanity they showed me. My experience was a very positive one, and I remain deeply grateful.

Yours faithfully,
