"Bad story"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was admitted to the Craigavon hospital via ambulance at 11am. At 5pm I was seen first time by the doctor, they then referred me for a hip x-ray, after which the doctor said that they had looked at my x-ray with other doctors and told me that my hip bone is chipped and sticking to the skin.

I was given ibuprofen 400 and was discharged at 7pm. At 8pm I got very sick. I phoned hospital, spoke with my doctor, they said that I can come back if I can't cope with a pain.

I waited all night with extreme pain, because having big difficulties with sitting, due to pain. I was called to the green area at 11.21am. The doctor came at 11.40. I found the doctor very loud and rude, they said that they have seen my x-ray and can see nothing up there, they said it's muscular and started rolling my leg different directions, when I was stopping them they were very rude, by saying nothing wrong and I have to relax my leg.

Very awful experience.

Good morning,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent experience in CAH ED. I am really sorry that you had a negative experience. Your pain should of been managed whilst you were in the waiting room, so I apologise that this was not the case.

Unfortunately due to the anonymous nature of care opinion I am unable to address the doctor that was rude to you as I do not know who it was. No staff should ever be rude and all patients should be treated with compassion at all times. So I apologise again that you had to experience this.

If you would like to discuss this further please feel free to contact me on 028 3833 4444 and asking to be put through to the ED Sisters office.

Thanks

Sister Green.
