"Excellent service"

About: General practices in Fife

(as a service user),

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes recently.

Layla (nurse) who informed me I was diabetic conveyed this in a kind manner. Not the diagnosis  I wanted but Layla explained things well and I left feeling that I could manage and make the changes needed.

A return to the surgery 3.5 months later for a review having totally transformed my lifestyle and diet, Layla commented on how well I was looking and how much weight I’d lost and was genuinely pleased for me.

I really appreciated that she recognised the change in me as it’s a big medical practice and it was months since she’d seen me for the first time.

Empathetic, caring nurses like this are a credit to the practice and the NHS. It’s certainly a different experience than from my previous practice and is a welcome change.

Hello attendantkt73

My name is Shelley McBain and I am the Service Manager for Primary Care. I want to thank you for leaving such lovely feedback. In particular that you found Layla caring and emphatic and you felt cared for. I would like to pass this feedback onto Layla as I'm sure she will be delighted to read it. Could you please advise me which GP practice you attended, either by responding to this post, or you can email me directly (shelley.mcbain2@nhs.scot).

Thank you again, and all the best with your future health,

Shelley
