I underwent elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy at the end of August.
All grades of staff I encountered were professional, friendly and informative to both myself and my sister.
Wards 1 and 2 and theatre were clean, well equipped and well maintained.
My surgical journey was smooth and well thought out which lessened my anxiety.
As a senior nurse, still practising, of over 45 years experience I know the value of a well run unit. Any department is only as good as their staff so the management of this unit is to be commended.
I hope ULHT realise the value of this service and will strive to meet their standards of care in other areas of their hospitals.
In the present culture of "knocking the NHS" it is refreshing to find such excellent practice for which I am very grateful.
