After being referred to your team in May 2023, for anxiety and depression, I felt nothing but thanks for this team. At the time, I was 6 months pregnant. I received a personalised birth plan before my birthing experience.
Unfortunately my birthing experience wasn't what I intended (I mean does anyone's go exactly to plan?) After my emergency c section, I felt completely out of sorts but the support I had from the team has been wonderful.
In early days I struggled to bond with my daughter. Mel (my care coordinator) asked Kerry (nursery nurse) to come out and help me with baby massage and bathing. These two things gave me severe anxiety.
Soon after, I began gaining my confidence. I attend group therapy for intrusive thoughts and in January 2025, started attending the weekly Moving Mommas (which became a play group soon after). I was discharged in September 2025.
I have taken away so many skills during my time under the team. I have expressed to all of the staff who have looked after myself and my daughter thanks for their support. I have written to Mel (my care coordinator) to express the commitment she had to my care and treatment. Overall, the care I have received is something amazing.
I just want to say thank you. To everyone under the team. Please keep supporting mothers like myself. Everyone's post-partum journey is different; and I don't know how I would have gone through that initial period without your support. So please, please, please don't stop this service.
