I would like to compliment the staff in the Endoscopy Department of the New Victoria Hospital.
Sharyn the first nurse who welcomed me was just lovely. She was very thorough with the paperwork we had to deal with and reassured me in such a caring and kind manner about the colonoscopy I was to undergo.
Martin the staff nurse who attended my procedure was just amazing in that he explained properly how to use the 'gas and air' and kept me totally calm throughout. Lovely guy.
Now Gemma (Specialist Nurse Endoscopist) Wow! I have experienced quite a few colonoscopies over previous years and Gemma's was just the very best one ever! I was very, very comfortable and only experienced occasional discomfort whereby Martin stepped in and helped me with the 'gas and air' which relieved it immediately. I managed to stay calm throughout the whole procedure in which Gemma got round my whole bowel!!!! She is not just a wonderful Endoscopist but also a charming girl.
Gail attended to me upon my return and was just caring, kind and knowledgeable and made me the best tea and toast ever.
I could observe that the rest of the staff in that Department were also so nice and knew what they were about.
I worked in the medical field and really appreciate nice and pleasant staff.
I do hope this message can be passed on to them all.
Thank you all so very much
