I took my 90 year old father for an appointment to get his back x-rayed. He's very hard of hearing and very fragile on his feet and can't walk very far.
Parking close to the site is an issue when he needs to attend anywhere because of his mobility, but thankfully we managed to get parked on the road outside the building and not too far for him to walk with his rollator. Thankfully that was the biggest challenge.
When we got in to the hospital, Radiology was fairly easy to find. The place was spotlessly clean and the waiting room was good. We arrived a little early and the receptionist was so friendly and helpful! After a short wait, the radiographer called my dad. I went with him and explained that he had very poor hearing and mobility. She introduced herself to him and was fabulous with him and me.
She allowed me in to the x-ray room to help him in to position for his examination and wait with her behind the protective screen while it was done. It gave so much reassurance to my dad to have me there with him!
When we left, both the radiographer and the receptionist made sure they explained the process and when our GP would have the results, before wishing us well as we left.
