"Coached through a difficult period"

About: Talking Therapies Rotherham

(as a service user),

Before coming to therapy I could never feel happy it was just persistent sadness. I realised that I was beginning to struggle and spiral too much so I tried to seek help and with me in mind were so amazing, James in particular. Most times in my life I felt undervalued, ignored and worthless it felt like nobody, not even my family understood me or cared for me in the way they should’ve.

Every week walking into James’ office felt like such a privilege and for the first time I felt valued understood and heard, I had someone that genuinely wanted to help me be better.

He provided me with skills and a mindset I will truly take into the rest of my life. I was so scared about leaving therapy and going to university and thought that I would just instantly relapse however I was discrediting both James and myself and I can honestly say here I am thriving because of his help and the tools he has given me.

Whilst I still have bad days now the difference is I can cope and I don’t view my whole life as bad. I could honestly talk forever about how special and lucky I feel to have had this treatment and such a dedicated therapist words cannot explain. Thanks for being here for me and coaching me through such a difficult period of my life James.

Morning Lfrbs,

My name's Faye, I'm the Clinical Lead here at Rotherham Talking Therapies. Thank you so much for sharing this feedback! It looks like you had a really positive experience working with James, and that the work you did together has led to some amazing changes. From reading your words, am I right in thinking you had support from a service called With Me In Mind?

I think there might have been a bit of a glitch as if that's the service you had some support from, it's found its way to us here at Rotherham Talking Therapies instead! I do have contacts with our local With Me In Mind and have shared your feedback with them so that they can see your wonderful words and James can receive this lovely feedback. I can imagine it will brighten his week to hear that you now feel you're equipped with a different mindset and have skills you can take forward into life. It's so rewarding to hear how people are getting on after sessions finish.

Thanks again, if you were working with the Rotherham With My In Mind this is their link so you can share your feedback over there too if you wish to: https://www.careopinion.org.uk/services/RXEC7_rwmim

I hope you have a lovely rest of the week, and best of luck with university. Take care.

Kindest regards,

Faye

Clinical Lead
