"Emergency admission"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Clinical assessment unit

(as a relative),

My sister had been been feeling unwell for 3- 4 weeks after completing a course of clexane injections after major surgery. Her symptoms included breathlessness.  ....pain......coughing.

We were advised to attend A and E, which we did.

We were greeted friendly and professionally by the receptionist.

We were seen nearly immediately, by Erin, bloods, ECG, x ray taken.

Then assessed by Advance Nurse Practioner Audrey and Lizzie (student), who ordered a CT scan for probable PE.

This was confirmed and explained very clearly and empathetically by Audrey.

My sister was then transferred to Clinical

Assessment Unit where the staff were all very caring, especially Dr Anna.

She was then moved to A 12 on Sunday for the rest of her treatment.

The staff here were very professional, especially after an emergency event that occurred in the ward.

Special mention to Kiera and Rachel (student).

We were then discharged and expertly looked after in the discharge lounge.

Good morning Bess 1970

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your sister’s recent experience in ED. I’m very pleased to hear that from the moment you arrived at A&E, you were met with kindness, professionalism, and prompt care.

It’s wonderful to hear that Erin, Audrey, Lizzie, Dr Anna, Kiera, Rachel, and the wider teams across A&E, the Clinical Assessment Unit, Ward A12, and the Discharge Lounge all contributed to making a difficult time more manageable through their compassion and expertise.

Wishing your sister a smooth and full recovery.

Tracey
