"Disabled parking at Crosshouse Kilmarnick"

About: Crosshouse Hospital

(as a service user),

I am in my 80s and a blue badge holder. I can walk unassisted no more than 10 yards. With my rollator this is increased but not by much.

I was recently in the disabled area at Crosshouse front entrance for some time waiting for a space.  A taxi driver was having a snooze in one of the pick-up bays. Several people were waiting to be picked up. Another taxi driver honked his way in to unload his patients (young and none of whom appeared in need of mobility help). The taxi driver then verbally abused me repeatedly thereby starting a fire with those looking on. In threatening me with the Police, I was socially shamed into moving out of the area to find somewhere else (I failed to find another suitable disabled spot).

Note, as I was leaving this disabled parking area, I noticed the original taxi driver still sleeping.

As a result I was unable to support my partner - who is in he late 70s - to, and during, her scheduled appointment.  As I left the hospital grounds the original taxi driver was still there sleeping. This cannot be tolerated.
