Went to A&E at Craigavon Area Hospital at 7 am in the morning with swelling beneath my knee, bruising and hot area on my leg. Went through triage and bloods then waited in the main A&E until I was called.
There was about 20 People in waiting area about 8:45 -9.00 about 5 names were called and brought into the Ambulatory ward.
I was given a seat in number 4, have been in Craigavon a few times over the years but never to this unit. The staff ,Consultant ,Doctors ,Nurses and support staff where very helpful and friendly from the first meeting taking great care of me This ward is for overflow of A&E and is an excellent idea for taking pressure off A&E during the day.
Also I was treated with IV antibiotics was able to go home that day and come back for more IV the next day this keeps beds free for critically sick people.
I received scans X-rays and blood tests and seen these on computer and explained by Dr about my condition.
I just want to thank all the staff Consultant, Doctors, Nurses, Care Assistants and the great Facility worker who provided me with refreshments throughout my time on this calm, well organised ward. Thank you for my excellent care.
"A calm, well organised ward"
